Hey It Gals!
It's been a while since I've shared my thoughts and ideas about self-love and how important it is to always work towards becoming a better you. Being the pro-girl individual I am, I think of these ideas and concepts a lot but, never get to take the time to share my thoughts through my favorite form of expression which is writing. The saying that came to me some days ago and I just really felt the need to share with you gals is, "Love yourself through all your stages of life". What I mean by that is simple but I'll give an example. Say you have a "body goal", most of us women do, but say you have a body goal and you've created a plan to achieve it including: the amount of times you will hit the gym a week, the diet you intend to follow, and target weights you hope to reach in set periods of time. The whole sha-bang! Well I'm here to say in the process of getting where you want to be please remember to love yourself in the present as well. Learn to love you where you are now just as much as you intend to love yourself when you are where you want to be.
In order to gain success efficiently and satisfyingly in the long run your heart, body, and mind need positive energy from you in the NOW, DURING, and in the FINAL RESULT. I use the "body goal" idea as an example of this because it's common for anyone to not fully love what they see or have other desires to be thicker, thinner, taller, shorter, more of this and less of that! But self-love begins with you and not the future you but the present you. Embrace the grind, the struggle, the heartbreak, the process etc. Embrace it all, and love yourself at every high and low as you work towards any ultimate goals, aspirations or anything you want for yourself. The outcome, I know and believe, is much greater and satisfying when you've loved yourself at every step of the way. Yes, we're human who come from different backgrounds, different struggles, different wants and different dreams and have more or less than a million reasons as to why maybe right now or at all you can't seem to love yourself in this moment because it's so much more you want for yourself. But think about how far the version of yourself right now has gotten you. For some it may be attending the college you worked so hard to get in to, or landing the job you've been waiting for that will open many more doors to come, or letting go of and or coping with past pain that has led you to feel happier and more motivated, or even life events that are more traumatic or more simple. In any case, the person you are today has gotten you this far so show love to yourself for that!
Give your beautiful self some props for sustaining in this society, your crazy generation (if you were born in the 90’s you’d understand why this is such an accomplishment lol) and through the chaos of life. It's a beautiful thing to witness your own growth, but without a doubt it develops from hard times and in those hard times is when your self-love is needed the most.
-XOXO
